Unblocking port 25

Viewing past discussions on this topic, it seems this forum is the best to ask for this. I've contacted customer service, they've said its not possible to unblock port 25, but I know this untrue because I have seen it done for people that have asked on this forum. I would like to have port 25 unblocked, I only need it for inbounding. preemptively I would also ask that the configuration made also be made permanent to avoid asking for it to be unblocked again from residential/dynamic changes. I also do not want to use a relay or any other service that tries to work around a port 25 block. Please help @XfinityCSAEmail

EDIT: I've called back and they have said they unblocked port 25, being skeptical I ran a network test to find that this is not the case, port 25 is still unresponsive, external hosts can't ping it.

Hi, @user_ddq4py. Thank you for reaching out and creating a new post. I would certainly continue to lean on our Customer Security Assurance team for further assistance. We don't have the ability to do it on our end. However, they have been able to work with customers before on this as you found in some previous posts. You can also visit their website https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-port-25-no-longer-supported which provides tips, contact info, and business hours.

@XfinityVianney Is there anyone that's apart of the CSA team that can help me on this forum?

@user_ddq4py You can definitely reach out to our Customer Support Phone Number, 1-800-Xfinity (800.934.6489) and ask to speak with someone in the CSA department, and they would be happy to assist you. We do not have any CSA Team members on this platform. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

@XfinityJeniece I'm not being assisted, I've called maybe 5 times now each time being transferred to CSA, same script, "We can't unblock port 25 as it is unsafe and used for spam". So how exactly do you get this port unblocked? I understand the security concerns, I understand I'm responsible for any outcomes with the port. Who do I speak to? CSA is running me in circles giving me the same non answer.

If you've reached out to our Customer Security Assurance team already, we would have to go off the answer they provided. We don't have the option to unlock the port on our end, and I am being completely upfront. Especially port 25, which we, along with other ISPs block for security. I see they did help with this before, but their policies can change. If they can't complete this on their end, It's likely no longer an option. @user_ddq4py I see you tagged them here, so we can wait for more updates.
