Verifying my email address.

I got an email at a backup address, giving me a six-digit code to verify my Comcast email address.  When I go into my Comcast email, there is nothing there, so how do I verify it?  It was a legitimate email that came to the backup address.  Please let me know to DM if necessary.  Could you help me, please?  Thank you.

Thank you for your help. No, I wasn't interacting  or performing an action -- I was checking in the backup address, and that is where I got the backup email. When I went into my Comcast email account, that's when I found nothing. No emails to click on or open. Don't know what else to do or where.
