xfinity support

Cannot send or receive emails on my Comcast account using Outlook on a Windows 10 computer.  Everything worked fine through Sep 7, 2025, but cannot access mail on Sep 8 to present.  Have not changed my password or made any other changes.  I get the 0x8000CCC0E message saying I can't access the server.  I can get my email on the Xfinity website and on my Samsung phone, with no problems.  I tried to ping the imap.comcast.net server and the smtp.comcast.net server, and both timed out.  I have tried this on several computers in my home.  My ISP is Xfinity and I have no other problems accessing the internet.

user_89mldo Welcome to our community forum! I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Since you're able to send and receive Email directly through our site, it tells me your online Xfinity profile and credentials are operating properly, but we may need to double-check some settings. Please follow these steps and let me know if you run into any questions.

Yes, I am using the correct ports and settings.  I am using an older version of Outlook, the one that came with Office 2019, on a Windows 10 computer.  I repeat that I made no changes to anything on the computer between September 7 and September 8, but I have not been able to send or receive mail on this Outlook client since September 8.  As a former IT employee now retired, I use some old tricks to check on things, like attempting to ping an IP address or server to see if it is reachable.  My husband has his email through att.net, and he can easily ping the imap.mail.yahoo.com server with no problems.  But when I try to ping the Xfinity mail server at imap.comcast.net, it times out.  Doesn't this mean that something is blocking the path between my computer and the Xfinity mail server?  I do have antivirus and Nord VPN running, but they have been running for a long time and I never had any problems until September 8.

user_89mldo Thank you for following up so we can continue working on your Email access together. Did you happen to receive an Email about moving your Xfinity Email to Yahoo?

No, I had no idea about this.  I will check my past email and see if I can find the notice.  If it's as easy as checking a box that says "move my email to yahoo" then I look forward to it.  Thanks for this tip and I will follow up when I can.

Another problem: I did indeed find the email from earlier that advised me to click on a link to change my email to yahoo, but the link was blocked.  The link provided was [Edited: "Malicious Link"]  but when I click on that I get a BLOCKED BY BITLY message.  THAT'S why I never made the change, I just ignored it because it was blocked.  Any idea how I get around this????

It appears you got a spam/phishing email instead of the official Xfinity email about the migration.

Here is information regarding the transition to Yahoo! Mail:

And, from the Yahoo! page:

I suggest if you get any emails about the transition to Yahoo! Mail you go to the website to check for the official logo next to the those emails.
