Flex connected to wifi extender

My Grandma's flex doesn't get good signal from her modem,  so I connected it to a wifi extender.  It only stays connected for a day or so and then re connects to the main modem. Is there a way to keep it hooked to the extender?

user_5ctixu, thank you for your post! Are you using an Xfinity WiFi Boost Pod or a 3rd party extender? If it is an Xfinity WiFi Boost Pod, our network will analyze your signal strength and connect you to the point with the best connection. You may need to reconfigure where they are set so that it gets a better signal from your pod.
