Flex setup, stuck on select language

I am stuck on the select language screen when setting up a new X1 flex box. The up and down buttons work to select a language, and I have used the power button to power the box on and off. Pressing the center button to select any language does nothing.  We have reset the remote twice and end uo in the same situation, able to move through language options but not select one.  We have also done a full power cycle on the flex box.

To send a "direct message" / "private message" message to Xfinity Support:

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 • Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging 

 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 • As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 • An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 • Press Enter to send it
