New Xfinity Flex will not work - ENT-22010
I just got the Flex box and hooked it up.
The Welcome screen appeared as did the language selection.
Then the "Yikes, that didn't work" message with error ENT-22010.
After trying a refresh, which ran for a bit and also ended in the "Yikes" error, I disconnected power & ethernet for several minutes.
After reconnecting ethernet and then power, the welcome screen displayed (which flashes to a black screen and back a few times) and then a bluish screen with 3 "processing" dots. Then there is a screen displayed that says the device has been restarted and to press any key on the remote to continue.
After this the "Yikes" (22010) message is again displayed.
As noted, the Flex box is hardwired. I have created an IP reservation in my DHCP sever section of my router.
I can ping the IP address successfully.
My TV also has a hardwired connection and is having no issues hitting the internet.
I cannot get to the Home or Settings screens even using voice commands.
If I say "my account" using voice commands, I see the 3 "processing" dots and then a message pops up and clears so fast it is unreadable.
I can, however, get to apps (Peacock) by using voice commands.
If I say "setup help" in the voice command, I get to a message that states "Your Gateway Doesn't Support this Feature".
"Upgrade to Xfinit xFi do display....."
I have seen where quite a few others are experiencing similar issues.
Is this due to me using a non-Comcast Modem and/or router?
Are there actually any solutions to this ridiculousness?

I’m experiencing the exact same thing here. Also using my own modem/router.
I kind of assume it’s due to some firewall rules I have configured to keep these sorts of devices isolated from the rest of my home network, though I’m not willing to compromise that it order to test the theory. :)
What I just noticed is that, even though the Flex itself always just displays that error, I’m able to get it to launch Hulu and Peacock by using the voice commands. And it’s obvious that the Flex has a fine network connection because I’m able to sign in and watch content!

The only non-standard network config I have is a pi-Hole device to block adds. It is also configured as my DNS in my router. I could temporarily revert back to using the Xfinity provided DNS IPs, but seeing the volume of people having this same issue, I really doubt that is the problem. It sounds to me like this Flex box is configured to require the xFi device. This is based on messaging I received from the device as well as comments made by others that I found while searching the inter-webs about this.
At this point I believe this is an Xfinity issue, but I don't think they are motivated to fix it!

I too can confirm that the flex box will not work with anything other than Comcast DNS servers. I've just been using the workaround and launching the apps with the voice remote.
