What that page doesn't say, but what should be obvious, is that you need to know the PIN before you can change or remove the PIN. If you don't know it, you'll need Employee help.

Hello jt825! Thanks for reaching out to us on our Xfinity Forums for help with managing the purchase PIN. I'm sorry that this feature is causing issues. I have been in your shoes before. I set the PIN to keep my little from ordering shows and told myself OK I'll make it simple I won't forget this. Well I did and had to go through the trouble of resetting it. As @DreamSayerZ shared you can manage your purchase PIN online, but as @BruceW you will need your PIN to reset your PIN. Thank you both for your input!
I would love to help out and clear the PIN for us. Can you please send us your name and service address? From there we will verify the account and work to clear the PIN so that you can reset it on your side.
