Frustrating Forum UI Elements

A few weeks ago the undocumented "Chat" (?) icon was moved from the bottom-right to the top-right of each Forum topic window (all windows in all Forums!!) and a "mystery bar" was added. These changes interfere with the triple-dot menu items for:

  • Edit
  • Delete
  • Mark unread
  • Add to bookmarks
  • Flag as inappropriate
  • Subscribe to RSS Feed

They also render the Compose area scroll bar and scroll arrows useless.

(Tested in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox in Windows 11)

Could these regrettable changes be undone please?

ETA: I checked with one of my other Forum IDs and it doesn't appear to have these anomalies. They may be leftovers from a few weeks ago when I made the mistake of using that [Edited: Language] "Chat icon". The anomalies may be limited to my "BruceW" profile. Lucky me. PLEASE FIX!!!

Interesting.  I don't have either of those - in FF - but then I'm not a customer.

I just checked with one of my other Forum IDs (should have done that before) and it doesn't have these anomalies either. Heads up.  Your posts are Private because you masked profanity.

@BruceW, just curious, have you tried this in an incognito or private browsing session? Also, I'm sending this image over to the backend team to see what's going on.

... have you tried this in an incognito or private browsing session? ...

I just tried it in a private browsing window. There, my main "BruceW" ID has the ever present "chat icon" and the "mystery bar". Logged in with one of my other IDs has neither one. And these are on (as shown on the address bar) forums.xfinity.com pages, not other xfinity.com pages.

@Again: Thanks for the heads up. I knew the Forum privatized profanity, but had no idea that it privatized fake profanity. That was just a few random symbols from the top of row of my keyboard, no actual profanity. Wow!
