Advanced call forwarding not available

Same problem posted many times, but I never see the resolution. I want to set up nomorobo on my voice line. To do that I have to enter a nomorobo number to my advanced call forwarding list. But the advanced call forwaring tab says "Sorry but something went wrong" and then I go into an endless search for how to fix that, always unsuccessful. I see some experts ask for detailed account information, after which they may be able to solve the problem. Is that what I need to do, and how do I do it? Thanks in advance

I didn't know I had published this privately. How can I make it public?

Also, the link you provided . . . I've wound up there a dozen times, but it doesn't help with the problem because it's not possible to carry it out as long as the advanced forward option isn't available. If I could get that fixed, it should be a straightforward process to complete.

Also, is it necessary to fill out the basic forward tab above advanced in order for the advanced tab to become available? I hesitate to put my own phone number in there as a test of that possibility for fear of screwing up everything.

Ironically, one compelling reason to switch to VOIP at xfinity was to be able to stop robocalls!

I'd appreciate any help with my specific problems.

reggiebruce Your post isn't marked as private from what I can see, so it's public. Can you try this link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/advanced-call-forwarding-voice-2go to see if it helps with any call forwarding settings?

Thanks for the suggestion, but the link still tells me to "change advanced call forwarding settings." Which I can't do. On another page that can be used to set user permissions, there's a distinction between a manager and a member. I don't know what those mean. I'm just a customer with xfinity voip. In any case the advanced call forwarding tab remains unavailable, even though the "manager" supposedly has full permissions.

I'll try the xfinity block option and see if that gets around the problem.

I thought some people, on this forum, were offered some personal workarounds for this problem, and I'd be willing to try that if someone could direct me. But referrals to xfinity web pages are no help in this case. I feel like I've seen them all, many times.

If you're not the Primary user for the account you're trying to manage the Advanced Call Forwarding features for, there is a chance you could be limited. The Primary user must first turn on Voice Permissions from the Account and Identity tab after signing in to their account for any other account user to access Advanced Call Forwarding options.

To turn on Voice Permissions:

  1. Go to Account and Identity. (After signing in as the Primary)
  2. Select a user to grant voice permissions.
  3. Scroll to the Allow Access to Voice Features section and toggle On

Once this is done, you should be able to manage the Advanced Call Forwarding settings under your Manager profile at your descretion 👍

I'm the only name on the account, shown as primary. I've been the only name on the comcast account for about 20+ years. I even tried to add myself as a user so I could give myself permission to access voice features, but I was refused since my name was already on the account. There must be something obvious that I'm missing.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out @reggiebruce. I am glad that we were able to look into the Advance Call Forwarding and help get that resolved so you can now access the features online. If you need any other assistance, please create a new public parent post. Thank you for choosing Xfinity and we hope you have a great rest of your evening.
