call block for "800 Service"

We get half a dozen or more calls each day from "800 Service". There are a million numbers associated with each "800 Service" exchange 800, 844, 877 etc. If you block one number they just use another one to call back. Eventually we run out of space to keep blocking numbers.

We need a way to screen or block ALL 8xx calls.

Our cell phones can do this. It is a simple software change on Xfinity's part to make this available on our Xfinity land lines. Please add this feature.

froghemoth, Thanks so much for reaching out to Xfinity Support! I know exactly what you mean. We do have several things in place for your home phone to help with this. I will list them here for you.
Spam Blocker: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/spam-blocker-overview
Anonymous Call Rejection: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/rejecting-anonymous-calls
Nomorobo: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/nomorobo

I hope this helps. I have the nomorobo set up on my landline, and it does work. We may get one ring, but after that, the call is gone. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@XfinityAngie Thank you!

We have been using anonymous call reject and spam blocker.

I had either forgotten about or just wasn't aware of nomorobo. I just set up nomorobo. I hope it works for us. Even if it doesn't block "800 Service" numbers, blocking the other robo calls will be helpful.

The nomorobo instructions need to be updated a little. They say to click on "Advanced Call Forwarding" but you cannot do that. You just need to add the nomorobo number in the available field and then click on "activate". Both the home number and nomorobo numbers are now in the list.

The nomorobo instructions also say to click on save after adding their number. There is no "save" button to click on for advanced call forwarding.

It is our pleasure to help, @froghemoth! We will make sure to pass along this valuable feedback. Have you noticed a difference over the past 2 days since setting that up?
