I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've had, and I'd love to see what we can do to help! You've come to the right place :) Our Digital Care Team is awesome to work with because we'll do everything we can to review and resolve issues as quickly as possible. I'm not sure what all you've tried so far, but here are a few things you can try in addition if you haven't yet:
1. Check Your Equipment:
- Caller ID Box: If you have a separate Caller ID box, make sure it's plugged in and has fresh batteries.
- Phone: Ensure your phone is working correctly with other features.
- Connections: Check all the cords connecting your phone, Caller ID box (if applicable), and modem are securely plugged in.
2. Restart Your Equipment:
- Modem: Unplug your Xfinity modem, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
- TV Box: If you have Xfinity X1 and Caller ID is supposed to show on your TV, restart your X1 box.
3. Check Xfinity Voice Settings:
- Caller ID Feature: Make sure the Caller ID feature is enabled in your Xfinity Voice settings. You can usually do this online through your Xfinity account or by contacting us.
- Call Forwarding: If you have call forwarding enabled, Caller ID might not work. Try disabling call forwarding temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
4. Contact Xfinity Support:
- Technical Issues: If the above steps don't work, there might be a technical issue with your Xfinity Voice service. Let us know how these checks go, and we can look into your account and troubleshoot any potential problems.
- Advanced Support: If you've tried basic troubleshooting, and we also cannot resolve things remotely, we can escalate the problem to our advanced support team. They might need to "rebuild the switch" for your Caller ID to function correctly.
Important Notes:
- Caller ID on TV: If you're trying to get Caller ID to show on your TV through Xfinity X1, make sure the notifications are turned on in your X1 settings.
- Caller ID Blocking: Some callers might have their numbers blocked, which prevents their information from being displayed.
- Third-Party Apps: If you use any third-party apps for call management or spam blocking, they might interfere with Caller ID. Try disabling them temporarily.
