Change Number of Rings in Voicemail

Hello,

I've searched this forum and this topic has come up multiple times over the last month. The Xfinity instructions to change the number of rings before Xfinity Voice forwards the call to voicemail are incorrect. The instructions to go to Xfinity Voice Setting and go to Call Forwarding and Advanced Call Forwarding ARE NOT CORRECT and from reading the forum, the instructions haven't been correct for at least a year.

The next instructions that are also incorrect are to login to this forum and send a DM to support to have the voicemail ring settings changed. That functionality is also not available.

Our problem: We don't want to use Xfinity's voicemail. We want to use our home voicemail machine. The Xfinity voicemail is kicking in around the 4th ring. This is too short for the older person using this number.

How can we get the Xfinity voicemail either turned off or change when Xfinity voicemail starts to after 10 rings?

Thank you.

Hi @user_ryjluu -

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble.  It sounds like Advanced Call Forwarding may not be configured on your account.  To hopefully kick things into gear:

When on the Call Forwarding setting page, under Advanced Call Forwarding try typing in a phone number (such as a cell number) and then click "Activate."

You should now see your home phone number in this section. Set the number of rings to 9 (the maximum) and keep the Status switch set to "On."  If you don't want calls forwarded to the number you just added, you can click the Trash Can icon to delete it or set the Status switch for that number to "Off."
