incoming phone calls keep getting intercepted

I have spent a good 5 hours with technical support on this issue. Twice, I have been told that the problem has been resolved. It has not. Xfinity voice is randomly intercepting calls from outside calls coming to our land line (we have terrible cell service) and asking callers to identify themselves and then pushing them straight to voicemail. The only reason we know someone calls is that I have it set up to forward voice mails to my cell phone. I have been through a half dozen scenarios with tech support, turn this on, turn this off. Has anyone else had this issue and did you resolve it? We are seriously considering dumping xfinity altogether over their inability to solve this issue for us. Thanks

Thank you so much for reaching out for help with your Xfinity voice services. That does sound frustrating to not get incoming calls alerted when they are coming in. I want to make sure we are on the same page with your issue, so we can make sure you get the help you need.  Your home phone is not ringing when an incoming call is active, you only know the calls are missed because call forwarding is that correct?

If so, since the home phone runs through your modem/Xfi gateway, have you made any recent changes to your modem?

yes, that is correct, but it is entirely random. For example, our mother in laws calls ring through, both her landline and her cellphone, but several of her health care providers phone calls are intercepted and sent to voicemail, but not all of them. I haven't made any changes to the modem, although your tech support has restarted it numerous times. Thank you for your help, this is frustrating to say the least but also a bit dangerous given the precarious health of my elderly mother in law. My wife is her primary caregiver.

user_s5q94b Are those health care providers numbers coming from a toll-free number? Here is a great link that explains how to modify the spam and call block features. I believe that the number they are calling from is being caught in that loop of the call block feature.

Thanks for getting back, some of the numbers are toll free and some are not. I went through the entire spam and call block features, even allowing all calls and we are still experiencing this issue. Not sure what this could possibly be, but don't want to spend any more time on the phone with tech support. If not resolved soon, I think we will just drop xfinity and figure out another way to keep a landline
