My Infinity landline calls go straight to voicemail without the phone ever ringing?

Hi, @sds33159! Thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity forums. I know how important it is to have working home phone service. Are you able to make outgoing calls or is the issue specific to incoming calls?

@XfinityBiancaB The issue is specific to incoming calls. We can make outgoing calls with no problem.  I used the prompts to turn off the Comcast voicemail, but calls still go to voicemail without our phone every ringing.  However, we can see there is a caller on our television screen if we happen to be watching TV when the call comes in.

Thanks for clarifying! Please view this article https://comca.st/3LhvSdW that walks you through how to change the number of rings before the voicemail answers. If it's already set to a number other than 0, please change it a different number for troubleshooting purposes and let me know if that works.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I apparently do not have the available feature to change the number of rings.  When I click on call forwarding, I can see the option to change the number of rings for just a split second, but it disappears?  I think I need a technician to come to my house.  I have tried everything the online support and telephone support help can think of to correct this malfunction.

@sds33159 you previously mentioned that you had turned off the Comcast voicemail feature. Just to clarify, are you using a stand-alone voicemail machine instead of the Comcast voicemail feature? If so, have you checked the manufacturers manual for that machine to see if you can change the amount of rings with the machine itself?

If you are attempting to use the Comcast voicemail feature, but had turned it off, that may be why you don't see the option to change the number of rings.
