Need to remove the xfinity voicemail service

Our landline has an answering machine capability. At some point xfinity voicemail started picking up all calls and none of them are coming through to the phone. It rings, we can pick up to answer but nothing happens and it just goes to the xfinity voicemail. I would like to remove that service since we don't need to have xfinity manage our voicemail.

I tried to adjust the number of rings when voicemail picks up but that advanced call forwarding feature is not available. I only have the ability to use the base call forwarding which is not what we need.

No, any calls that come to that phone are not answerable. If we pick up the phone to answer nothing happens. The caller get this message: This wireless customer you called is not available at this time please try your call later.

I changed the advanced call forwarding to 6 rings. Our landline phone will indicate to leave a message after 4 rings but that is not getting to the caller and they just get that wireless message I indicated. This is not a wireless phone so not sure what has changed but this is not working at all.

user_49pgw0 I certain certainly understand the concern there, we can assist you with some troubleshooting. I will need some additional information to assist further.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send it.
