spam call filtering problems

My friend both have Xfinity phone service for our land lines.  I've been calling her for years with no issues.  Over the past two or three months whenever I call her I get a message that her number is protected by Spam Call Filtering.  The recording tells me to enter a two digit code, but when I do, the phone rings about ten times and I get another recording asking me for a remote access code.  She swears that I am the only one this happening with and that she has not ordered Spam Call Filtering for her home phone.  What is going on?

@user_sj7m5h  Thanks for reaching out to us regarding spam call filtering. If you are making a call to a party that has spam call filtering, they would need to work with their carrier to remove you from that list or modify their settings. Once they complete these steps, you should be able to make calls to your friend again.

@XfinityCarolyn You are the carrier, and my friend did not request or activate spam call filtering on her phone.  I'm not the only person having this issue.  You need to stop activating this feature without the knowledge of your customer.

@user_sj7m5h   Thanks for the update. In this case, your friend will need to contact us, so we can complete the troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

I spoke to my friend and told her that she needs to contact you regarding this matter.  I suppose the next time she has an hour to waste talking to someone in the Philippines she'll give you a call.
