TOO MANY SPAM CALLS

My almost 82 year old father receives 10-15 spam phone calls a day ... it's ridiculous. How can I stop this from happening - besides cancelling his account??

He had ELEVEN calls yesterday ... not one was from someone he knew. All eleven were probably trying to take advantage of him - he's been told to not answer the phone but it ringing constantly all day will drive anyone nuts.
