Unwanted voice mail

I was never asked if I wanted voice mail which I don’t. Comcast just did it with out customers consent. I want it gone. My phone calls no longer coming in plus I always had my own answering machine.

Greetings @jebsr, thank you for taking the time to create a post on our Xfinity community forums support page. You have come to the right place for help! We understand that many customers prefer to use their own answering machine. Our team can facilitate this change for you, please start by sending our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account. 😃

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.

I called Comcast today to get voicemail removed. They told me they can’t unless I change my package and remove the landline. I removed the landline. Really hating Comcast.

@jebsr I had the same phone number for 52 years and Comcast forced to give it up. I should have stayed with Verizon for the phone.
