voice mail answering when I am not on the landline
We have an answering machine on our Xfinity landline phone and the 'back up' Xfinity voice mail is only supposed to activate after 4 rings if I am on the phone and don't respond to call waiting. Lately I am getting voicemail notification when I am not on the phone and its always from one particular company offering loan stuff . This keeps happening. How can this be when the Xfinity voice mail never activated before if I was not on the phone? Its bugging me ands yes I get 'regular' landline answering machine messages when I am not on the phone other than this particular call. Seems to me if I am not on the phone the 'regular' answering machine should be taking the call and not Xfinity voice mail.
