busy signal on call out
After upgrading my modem, my land lines can receive calls, but I get a busy signal when I try calling out to any number. How do I fix this?

Just out of curiosity, when you pick up your handset and press a number, do you hear the tone? If not, your phones might be set to something called dial pulse. However, if you press a number and do hear the tone, then it might be a provider issue
Just out of curiosity, is this a modem you bought for yourself and not renting? And if so, what model is it?
Also, how do you have your telephone wired into the modem?

Hello @hawkster27
We appreciate you bringing this issue to our Xfinity Community Forum. I am sorry to hear about the trouble calling out -- that must be frustrating. You are in the right place for help. Have you had a chance to review @YukamoRan 's questions? They have asked some great questions to help isolate this issue. Have you tried resetting the modem since this has happened? You can do so by pulling the power cord from the wall plate for 60 seconds, then plugging it back in.
