Also see post about email not connecting. Home phone goes straight to voice mail. Outgoing calls work, but incoming do not.

If your home phone goes straight to voicemail without ringing, it usually means that call forwarding is activated on your phone line; this setting automatically redirects all incoming calls to your voicemail instead of ringing your phone first.

Other possible reasons include:
  • Low ringer volume: Check if your phone's ringer volume is turned down too low.
  • Faulty phone connection: Ensure the phone is properly plugged in and the cord isn't damaged.

Thank you so much for sharing those details for troubleshooting the Home Phone issue, @MikeB39A! We would recommend following the steps here @user_879340 to make sure the call forwarding feature is fully deactivated. Please let us know if you have any further troubles after attempting those steps.

@XfinityAdrienne I've tried all of these remedies and spent an hour with X Rep and they cannot fix the problem  It's not call forwarding as i checked each step of that, not my home phone as I disconnected it and plugged a new phone up, rebooted the gateway 4 time by removing power cord.  I've read many forums and this seems to be a widespread problem, and today, X is not answering their phone...!

user_1xsw32 I am sorry that you are still encountering an issue with this feater. I would be happy to take a closer look with you. To get started, can you please send a direct message with your full name and address?

To send a "Direct Message" message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon at the top of the page (looks like a text bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list that appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Our land line keeps going to voicemail.

We have bought new phones and new batteries and it’s still an issue.

Customer service doesn’t help either.

Any suggestions?

Hello, @user_a4k6wq

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a direct message:

1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click the direct message icon

2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)

4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!
