Loud buzzing sound on phone
I have a loud buzzing sound on my phones that are plugged into my phone jacks.
I just switched my home phone to comcast, I just set-up internet and a phone plugged into the modem, and they are working. The phones plugged into the wall jacks are making a loud buzzing sound, you can’t dial out. They were working before I switched. I have unplugged/plugged the phones from the phone jacks and restarted the modem and it didn’t help. How can I resolve this?

Have you disconnected the previous provider from the internal lines?

I actually had the same thing happen at my last house. When my phone service was switched over from the phone company to Xfinity, the technician had to disconnect the original phone line to the house, so my wall jacks could connect to my modem without interference.

I unplugged the old phone service from my telephone box and now the phones are working. Thank you for your help.
