Motorola MT8733 Xfinity voice problem

I have successfully activate my new Motorola MT8733 modem. Internet connectivity works but my existing Xfinity voice has no dial tone. The phone if plugged into line #1 as instructed. When I reboot the modem, the Phone1 light flashes a few times and then remains off.  From what I gather on this forum, it seems that Xfinity needs to update something in my account at their end to make my phone work.  I have not been able to find a way of reaching a live agent to ask for assistance.  Xfinity Automatic Chat Assistant has not been helpful a all.

@XfinityEva Thanks. My problem is now resolved.

I used the automated Xfinity Assistant (not very helpful) and then asked to talk to a live agent (very helpful).

They had to do "provisioning" at their end to activate my phone line.

For Forum readers who might not know what "Provisioning" in software means:

In software and IT, "provisioning" means setting up and making IT resources and infrastructure available for use by authorized users or systems, including tasks like creating user accounts, assigning access permissions, installing software, and configuring systems

I am glad to hear you were able to get everything addressed for the Xfinity Voice service. With any new modem (Owned or rental), it would need to go through activation/provisioning to verify and start the services. I am glad that our Xfinity representative over the Xfinity Assistant chat was able to get this updated for you. We appreciate you being a part of our Xfinity Community and hope you have a great week ahead of you @user_vz39os.
