My Netgear CM2050V got hacked. How can I remove the number and get my own number back?

My modem was hacked and has a differrent number installed. I have rebooted my modem but how do I reinstall the Xfinity information to get my phone number back??

Good afternoon n1mbo. I am happy to assist further. Just to clarify, are you indicating you are concerned your Xfinity account is hacked?

My modem was hacked and my phone number was removed and another number put in its place as a message service. I have reset the modem to factory settings but I don’t know how to reinstall my phone number and other data required by my modem

A clarifying question for you @n1mbo

Are you referring to 'land line' voice services that are associated with your CM2050V and stating that you are now unable to place and/or receive calls for a phone number we provide services for since you factory defaulted and reset the modem?

If that is the case, and you require assistance, please send us a Direct Message* with your full name, and complete service address.  Once we have your account located and verified, we can work with you to troubleshoot this concern for you.

How to Send Us a Direct Message*:
(*Note: Never send a direct message to us unless requested by us.)

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or visit Xfinity Direct Messaging.
  3. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
