no dial tone on home phone

I had cancelled a landline earlier this year and just reinstated it last Friday. I am not getting a dial tone. The setup was never changed. How do I proceed?

SoxFan2025 Thanks for reaching out for help with getting the home phone service working again for you. I would be happy to look into why you are not getting a dial tone, and work to get it fixed for you. 

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (speech bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

@XfinityEricB​ I am trying to get some  help for my 97 year old father.  He has Xfinity, and his voice has not been working since yesterday, which means that his Life Alert is not working either.  He has internet and cable.  I CANNOT get a living person on the phone for any kind of customer service.  He needs to have somebody go out there and fix the phone service.  How can I get this done?  I am using his account.

Hello @herbstein I’m sorry to hear that you guys are having phone issues and unable to reach support via phone. Our team is here to help! I have a few questions to ask to resolve this for you.

Is the phone line plugged directly into the wall outlet or the back of the modem?

What's the status of the power light on your modem is it on, flashing or off?

Is the internet also having an issue?
