No dial tone

Hi, I installed a new gateway, and ever since I have not been able to get a dial tone. I've done the chat, I've looked through the forums, I've done everything that was suggested including plugging the phone directly into the modem, checking that the equipment is compatible, making sure the phones work. No luck. Unable to get through by phone, getting very frustrated. I already typed this out once, and it got deleted saying it encountered an error. Why is it so hard to get some help?

Ensure you are logged in

  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
    • As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
    • An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it.
