Porting and cancelling

I want to port my xfinity voice number and it shows it can take up to three weeks. Will this cancel my xfinity voice when it’s ported? Also I was told that my bill would be reduced by $40 if I dropped voice and bought my own modem and router. Was I given correct information?

The port from Xfinity Mobile once it's completed will cancel the port as soon as the number is received by the new carrier. You would save $15 by getting your own modem, but I'd have to look at your voice plan to see if it is $25 or not. That sounds like it could be correct though.
