Porting Away from Comcast

Anyone got any ideas on how this is done? I've tried for two weeks and keep being told by my new carrier that Comcast keeps denying their request to port my 30-year old phone number. It's impossible to talk to a human and when I do, they transfer me around until the phone goes dead. . but they are very good at extracting my payment every month from my bank account.

Did you succeed? What is the trick? I have had no luck getting out of Comcast digital voice.

Hello, @NOTATALLPLEASED. I see this post was updated 2 days ago. Are you still having trouble porting your number to a new carrier?

 

@Anon885909, are you having trouble porting your phone number to another carrier, or are you having trouble finding a bundle that doesn't include Xfinity Voice?

I no longer work for Comcast.

We are having the same problem trying to get Xfinity to port our number back to CenturyLink.  It's been almost a week now. How difficult can it be??  Yup, they keep taking our money though.

@Curly I am sorry to hear you are having issues getting your number ported to century link. As long as the phone number is active, Century Link should be able to initiate the request and take the line. Is the number still active?
