Store visit,apparent mistake

I made a visit to the local Xfinity store because I was paying way too much for the things I had neglected to take care of. I dropped my TV service and kept the Internet and my home phone parentheses landline to change these two things I was required to get a new telephone number for my home and wait a week for it to be finished hooked up I guess it has never happened and it’s been over three weeks.
