Voice Phone Number Porting

I recently asked Xfinity to port my landline number to my Xfinity Voice line. I was told that Xfinity would do the porting and then close my landline account. Well, according to my Xfinity account, the landline number was ported to my Voice line and my landline account was closed. Unfortunately, according to my Xfinity account, my Voice line number was ported but is "Pending Activation". I still do not have a dial tone and when I try to call the number using my cell phone, I am told that the number does not exist... try dialing again! An Xfinity technician was out here today and checked out my modem and lines... he found no problems. He told me to contact Xfinity phone porting department which I did. They could not find any problems and sent me to Tech Support. Tech Support worked on the problem for about 20 minutes and told me that they will have to work on the problem and get back to me in about a week. Can anyone help me?
