voice toubleshooting

Using the newest xfinity modem (xb8 I believe) in bridge mode and xfinity voice has worked fine.  I can make a voice call out but as of yesterday I cannot answer incoming calls.  I see them coming in but I cannot connect the call (tried on both direct connect handsets and wireless handsets).  I press 'talk' or pick up the handset and there is no one there.  On the other end the call keeps ringing.  Eventually the caller gets a 'the call cannot be completed as the call's party is temporarily unavailable' and it doesn't roll to voicemail.  If I leave the phone off the hook then the caller immediately rolls to voicemail.

I have rebooted my modem multiple times with no change.  Internet works fine and the modem light is solid white as it should be.

Hello, I wanted to check in to see if you were able to have phone issues complete?

user_6i30ib Let's take a look at the service, and troubleshoot with you to get this resolved for you.

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" If necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (speech bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person".

Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it
