Hello @user_ujgyae and thank you for posting on our Xfinity Community forums!
This is a great question! The complimentary comcast.net emails we initially were providing to customers are being migrated to Yahoo for hosting (it should be noted, we have not been issuing new comcast.net email addresses for some time with new accounts.)
At the moment, the move is initially optional. Because of how many email addresses are involved, it's being rolled out in stages, but it will eventually become mandatory at some point.
Xfinity isn’t taking away your email address, the backend is being moved to Yahoo in stages while letting you keep your same address and data.
