Ported Number of 10+ years to Xfinity Mobile and It Is Not Working

Hi. I have had my cell phone number for 10+ years. I was first with At&t then Metro and now Xfinity Mobile. I signed on to get a iphone and a year of service but it is not working already. I received my cell phone 4pm on 10/1/25. I did all the steps to port my number from Metro PCS to Xfinity Mobile. I was immediately able to call and text, receive it as well, but I noticed in the evening that I could not receive any verification text from like my bank, shopping apps, and so on which is a big deal. I immediately contacted Xfinity Mobile. I hope those chats are monitored because I spoke to 7 agents and not one of them resolved the issue and kept disconnecting the chat when they couldn't figure out the problem. I called the phone number for Xfinity Mobile and an automated message says let me review your account then comes back every time saying, "to ensure highest level of security for our customers, we are unable to assist you over the phone then disconnects. This is awful. I no longer have Metro PCS, my phone plan is now with Xfinity. I cannot receive any verification text messages and no one, literally no one is helping me and I cannot speak to anyone.

Thanks for reaching out to us, we do apologize for any inconvenience you're having with your mobile services.

 

When you get new phones and you have text notifications set up with certain apps or banking companies you need to go into your settings on your Iphone to notifications and turn on the allow notification option

 

You may also need to do something with inside each individual app  as well,  but all your notification should work once you turn on and update all your settings
