Silent voicemails

I receive an inordinate number of spam calls each day which, if left unanswered, go to voicemail.

As the callers never speak I end up with 18 to 30 second voicemails containing silence.

if would be a simple fix to measure the energy in the message and, if none were detected, then discard the message rather than saving it to my inbox (I should know as I designed the NEC 3C PBX to function this way).

Please consider this change in order to save me (and I’m sure countless others) from having to listen to and delete empty messages every day.

@m3driver Thank you for making us aware of these spam calls you've getting lately. I also appreciate your suggestion to update the voicemail to discard the voicemail if/when none are detected in the message. I highly recommend you reach out to our Customer Security Assurance team to report these phone calls and find a way to prevent them from going through.
