Xfinity Mobile Hotspot Restricted to 0.6 Mbps — Technical Escalation Ignored
I've been experiencing an unresolved Xfinity Mobile hotspot performance problem affecting both my wife's and my iPhone 17.
Our phones receive excellent cellular data speeds (over 600 Mbps), yet devices connected through their Personal Hotspots receive approximately 0.6 Mbps.
I've reproduced the problem using an iPad connected to either iPhone and a MacBook Pro connected through USB tethering. I've also completed a network reset and other troubleshooting procedures.
Xfinity confirmed that I've consumed only 1.1 GB of my 10 GB high-speed hotspot allowance, so exhausting that allowance does not appear to explain the restriction.
Interestingly, 0.6 Mbps corresponds almost exactly to the 600 Kbps hotspot restriction associated with certain older Xfinity Mobile plans. I'm concerned that an incorrect speed restriction may be applied to our lines.
On October 25, Xfinity opened technical support case CR281252211 and escalation CRC78556478. I was explicitly promised a technical investigation, a written response within 24–48 hours, and confirmation that both cases would remain open until the issue was resolved.
As of October 28, I've received no findings or follow-up whatsoever.
When I contacted Xfinity again today, the representative would not provide the escalation status, directed me to telephone support despite Xfinity's written agreement to communicate through chat or email, and then terminated the conversation.
I'm requesting that an Xfinity employee review the existing technical escalation, confirm whether my lines are subject to an incorrect hotspot speed restriction, and provide a substantive written update.
I do not want to repeat basic troubleshooting or start another support case. I want the existing escalation investigated and resolved.
