Rewind and FF are jumpy

Can’t rewind or fast forward like I used to. It seems to jump around, going a couple of minutes at a time. Even in the slowest fast forward mode it does the 2 minute jump ahead. (It used to do that but not in the slowest mode.) Tewbd might jump back a few minutes. I have noticed this mostly on live TV making it almost impossible to watch because I use my rewind a lot. This started happening about 10 days ago, I’ve restarted a few times and even repaired the remote with no successful result.
I also noticed it will let me rewind a lot further than it used to so it seems to be related to that change. That’s fine but I’d rather have my fast-forward and rewind working the way they used to!
In addition, I have my A button set a 20 second rewind which sometimes work but sometimes doesn’t, and it always used to.

@Vicki11 there has been some updates to the services and for live TV I am seeing only a 25-30 minute rewind allowed on live TV. I have been using the voice remote to fast-forward since the change. You can hold down the microphone button and say " Fast forward 1 minute" or what ever time you would like or say rewind and the time there as well. Here is a helpful link  https://comca.st/3LRdGbE; Pause, Rewind, Fast Forward features. Have you tried sending signals to the cable box through the Xfinity My Account app https://comca.st/3GpZDsA or by a hard reboot power cycling the cable box?

Thanks for responding however I did post this on the non-X1 area.
unfortunately I do not have voice control on my remote. And yes I checked out how far I could go back on rewind today and it’s an hour and 12 minutes!  but that is something I really don’t need,  I would rather have my 15 or 20 second rewind working and my ability to fast forward without jumping ahead five minutes.

The system tells me it’s working fine. Is the hard reboot more than unplugging it for 10 minutes?

@Vicki11 Thank you for reaching back out. I would be more than happy to assist you in completing some simple troubleshooting steps together to ensure your cable box is working properly, no problem at all! To first answer your question about the hard reset, we actually ask that you not only unplug the cable box, but while it is also unplugged, unscrew the coaxial cable and leave it unscrewed for at least 15 seconds, before screwing it back in, ensuring the connection is "finger tight" on both ends, and then plugging back in the cable box to power. Please let me know if that resolves the issue, and then if not, we can try some other more advanced troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the issue once and for all.

Thanks for the reply. No, it's still whacky. I tried a non-HD station and it's fine.. weird?

Would you like to check on upgrading your TV box? If so, direct message your name and address.

Make sure you are signed into forums

1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon(direct message) near the bell icon. 2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
