Schedule a tech to install cable

I need a cable outlet installed in my basement because the Stream app doesn’t work down there. How do I schedule that?

@user_ljnbwf Xfinity does not do any wall phishing, you would need to hire your own electrician, you can reach out & they maybe able to have a tech come add new outlet were they drill straight through the wall. but there is fee for them to come out and install the new outlet. U could also get a wifi extender thru xfinity https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/wifi/wifi-extender or https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/xpro or purchase your own. For the best wifi signal you do want your modem in central location of the home, basements closets or bookshelves are not recommended

@user_5w15rf thanks. I’m using a Deco WiFi extender, but the XfinityStream app often just stops working. The tv is being used by my 85-year-old mom who can’t manage the technology—trying to keep it simple for her

@user_ljnbwf Oh so your tv box needs coax, got it, If you dont need wall phised they can run a cable from tap to the area needed,  as long as they can drill from outside to the inside. I think its $100 install fee added to your next bill. You will probaly hear from Xfinity agent on this forum that will invite you to send a DM to get that scheduled

Hi @user_ljnbwf, our friend here @user_5w15rf shared perfect information! I love that you are making sure that your mother can enjoy watching TV without forcing her to learn an entirely new product. We can definitely help you get an installation scheduled if that is the route that you would like to go forward with just send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account to get started.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.
