TV picture has intermittent pixilation. Appears to be fixed after Xfinity "correction", then reverts to poor pixilation picture.

Do I need a modem to get live TV?  I know that I need a modem for Internet streaming for Netflex, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. which is operating ok.  An Xfinity agent told me that I need a new modem to correct TV picture pixilation, but my research indicates a modem has no connection to live picture quality.

user_6tjg3s, Thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support. Can you tell me how you are watching live TV? Is it through an app, or with one of our cable boxes?

I am using a coaxial cable from the Livingroom wall to the Xfinity box (via the Xfinity cable from the street to the house).  The box is not the kind for wireless feed to the TV from my modem/router.  A technician suggested that if I continue to have problems with pixilation, I should consider using an Xfinity box for wireless feed and the Xfinity streaming app.  Not sure if that is the answer to intermittent pixilation.
