X1 EAS interruptions
I understand that every week the federal EMS requires broadcasters and cable companies to do EAS testing. FIne. XFinity chooses to completely switch to another signal during the test, as opposed to running a crawl. Is it possible to switch to a less intrusive approach to fulfilling your obligations?

KT128 Federal law (administered by the FCC and FEMA) requires cable operators to broadcast EAS messages and tests exactly as they are transmitted. Xfinity is legally mandated to override the broadcast rather than running a silent or transparent on-screen crawl.
Xfinity’s network passes the mandatory federal/state/local signals straight through to your X1 box. Because of this, they cannot be disabled, muted, or altered to a "crawl-only" method without violating federal communications regulations. The test interrupts your normal viewing by forcing a tune to a designated override channel and displaying the test screen. This override affects live TV, DVR playback, and the Xfinity Stream app.
