ABC On Demand programs have mis-timed closed captions
All episodes of current ABC primetime programming that have been on on demand longer than one week have closed captions that run several seconds ahead of the spoken dialogue. This applies to both X1 and the Xfinity Stream app and website.

Hey Tcalg thanks for using our Forums and our team is here happy to work with you on the closed captions issues you are having while watching ABC on-Demand. Our team is here to help if you are still having this problem. Do you have any issues with the live ABC programming and the closed captioning?

I have been direct-messaging with Support about this issue, and I'm sure you can imagine how that's going.
I would like to ask any regular Xfinity customers reading this to look into this problem yourself. Go to Xfinity On Demand, choose any ABC primetime show that's currently on ABC's schedule, and turn on closed captions.
Make sure the episode you choose is older than one week. This problem only affects episodes older than one week.
You can do this on an X1 cable box, or on the Xfinity Stream website on a computer or the Xfinity Stream app on a phone. I've seen this problem on all three.
Now, watch the episode with the captions turned on. What do you see? Do the captions match the words being spoken? Or do they seem like they're about two seconds before the character actually says the words?
Please report your findings here. If Xfinity sees that multiple users are having this problem, maybe they'll escalate the issue.
