Impossible to buy service

I have called (888)936-4968 6 times in the last 2 days trying to get to somebody who is willing to sell me service and each time the system locks up and stops responding after it looks up my existing Xfinity internet account details. There is no way to get to somebody who will sell me the product, even after laying on the 0 and pound keys. Usually, mobile operators put a lot of effort into sales and have an exit from the automated system if they stop responding. This is a very bad sign for me that they have cut back on spending on sales and customer service. In my area, Verizon offers FIOS, they bundle their internet offering with their cell phone service, and Verizon is the underlying carrier for the Xfinity mobile service. I'm pretty sure their customer service and sales operation will be better than this. Why shouldn't I just cancel all Xfinity services and switch to them? That seems like the rational choice.
