International Roaming for Mobile Select Plan

For the Mobile Select plan, on the website it says:

Unlimited talk, text, and data for travel in 215+ destinations

and

Call, text, and use data instantly when you arrive in 215+ covered destinations. No data caps or overage charges. Plus, unlimited calls and texts to and from Mexico and Canada.

and

Unlimited international data, talk, and text included
Enjoy coverage for 215+ destinations at no extra cost with our latest plans.
and
Unlimited international data (10 GB high-speed)
Unlimited calls and texts while abroad
Unlimited calls from the US to Mexico and Canada
Connect instantly when you arrive, no passes or top-ups
Despite this very clear information, at the Xfinity store when we signed up for Xfinity Mobile (and we are a qualifying Xfinity Internet customer), the agent stated that this was only available with the Mobile Plus plan, not the Mobile Select plan, and he was going to check with his manager. We finished the sign up process with Mobile Select and never heard back from his manager - we were convinced that Mobile Select has this feature.
It states this in many places on the website that the Mobile Select plan has data, talk & text for travel in 215 countries.
We aren't going to Europe until next year but wanted to verify that this is the case.
Thank you, Joe

Appreciate the response but we’re in Canada now and just got his message:

Xfinity Mobile: Your next bill will include at least $100.00 in data roaming charges. To avoid more roaming charges, use WiFi and check if your destination is covered by Global Travel Pass or Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass, which may allow you to pay a flat rate for data. Need help? Call us at +17207285462 at no charge. Learn more:

We also got an email which indicated that the source was our iPad tablet.  When we clicked on the link we found this note which appeared out of nowhere.

Notes:

  • Global Travel Pass, Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass, and international roaming are not supported on tablets or smartwatches.
    • Using data on tablets will result in pay-as-you-go usage charges in Mexico and Canada.
    • International data roaming is not supported on tablets (except Mexico and Canada).
    • International data roaming isn’t available for smartwatches outside the U.S.
      • Using data on paired smartwatches may result in pay-as-you-gousage charges for the paired mobile line.

Sio warning you everyone - turn off data roaming on your tablets & watches before traveling!   Is there anything that can be done about these roaming charges?

thank you, Joe

@hmbayThat is correct. Global Travel Pass is available only for smartphones. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause however, data charges incurred on a tablet cannot be removed. To help avoid additional charges, we recommend turning off cellular data on the tablet until you return to the United States. You can find more information about Global Travel Pass here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/global-travel-pass

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We're happy to help in any way we can and wish you safe travels.
