Lied to about receiving credit?

A while ago I went on vacation and was charged $2585.59 in roaming charges which is absolutely ridiculous. I called multiple times and each time it was "I'll see what I can do" and a vague answer. One guy said he'd send me an email and that he made a case for me, gave me the reference number and everything. A couple weeks later I call back to check up because I didn't receive the email and then after waiting for a while and explaining my situation, the guy on the phone said that he was able to get them to credit be the $2585.59 which would arrive in a couple business days. I have yet to see this credit added to my account and I suspect I have been lied to just to get me off the phone, which to sincerely hope is not the case. I am submitting a question to check up on the progress of that.
