5 days of pixelated picture

Suddenly 5 days ago the main TV has been pixelated, large tiles, sound cutting out. Happens on live and DVR tv.  We made no changes, didn't move anything, wifi working fine. Ensured all cords are tight. Have reset the modem and the tv box numerous times. Tried to use the Xfibity Assistant,  that is very limited and if you try to ask a question or answer not in a stock response, it starts all over.

Our TV box is the type with a clock in it.  Incredibly frustrating.

Hi @user_801b63 That definitely sounds frustrating, especially when it started suddenly and you haven’t made any changes. Since you’ve already checked the cables and restarted both the modem and TV box, we’d like to dig a little deeper and check the equipment and signal on our end.

The pixelation did improve some on its own, again came on with no real reason. Seemed better during daytime then would worsen in evening. We scheduled a tech visit after day 4, it was 3 days out.

They came today, a subcontractor, from a deck builder with a random young woman he said was a student. English was a second language, which fine...except he seemed to have difficulty understanding us and we definitely had trouble understanding him. He did eventually check the lines coming in- all good lines in basement- all good, coming out of wall a "little slow". Told us we had to change to wifi boxes to fix issue....fast forward to 2 hours later and we had him extremely reluctantly change back to a standard coaxial box...but only one could be a coaxial box because the smaller old box had been deactivated and had to do a wifibox. I still am not sure what the heck happened with the 2nd box. He left in a huff with cable wires hanging all over the basement.
