Confused.  The LG remote will always turn the LG TV on, of course.  Are you trying to use the LG remote to change channels on the X1 box?  I don't think that's possible.  The X1 box uses its own RF and can be controlled with IR commands.   As far as I know, the Magic remote doesn't have a way to send commands to the XG1v4

Do the instructions at https://www.google.com/search?q=lg+magic+remote+xfinity+x1+4k+dvr help?

@BruceW That's basic HDMI-CEC for a few limited functions and does not include changing channels, the thing the OP is asking about.  I have two LG OLEDs paired with XG1v4s and Denon receivers and have found the LG Universal Control functions are next to useless.  Do you have a different experience?

user_dfwq1n, Thanks for reaching out to Xfinity Support. If the LG Magic remote is compatible, here are the steps you need:
  1. Check Input: Make sure your TV's input is set to the HDMI port connected to the Xfinity box.
  2. Access Settings: Press the Home/Settings button on your LG Magic Remote.
  3. Navigate: Go to Settings > General > Devices > Universal Control (or Remote Control > Universal Control Settings).
  4. Start Setup: Select Set Up Device, then choose Cable/Satellite Box.
  5. Select Provider: Choose Xfinity from the list of providers.
  6. Follow Prompts: Follow the on-screen instructions to select your device and complete the setup.
  7. Test Controls: When prompted, test functions like changing channels (using the on-screen number pad or channel up/down) and DVR commands.
  8. Complete Setup: Finish the process when the tests are successful.

Changing channels by clicking an on screen number pad or navigating with the channel up/down buttons?  Ugh.
