CHANGE IN ABILITY TO RECORD FROM DVR

I am filing a formal complaint about Xfinity removing the ability to record a channel for a specified period of time. This feature was part of the DVR functionality I have been paying for, and I believe removing it significantly reduces the usefulness of my television service. I want an explanation for why this feature was removed and whether Xfinity intends to restore it. If not I want a reduction to my bill.

user_jmovja. Thank you for sharing your feedback. I understand why you're disappointed by the removal of this DVR feature and how it impacts the way you use your service. While we don't have details regarding business decisions that led to the feature's removal, I can certainly document your concerns and make sure your feedback is submitted. We recognize that changes to service features can be frustrating, especially when they affect functionality you've come to rely on. At this time, we have not been advised that the feature will be restored, and we're unable to provide billing credits or rate adjustments based on the removal of this functionality. However, your concerns regarding both the feature change and the value of your service are important, and we will ensure that your feedback is shared with the appropriate teams for review. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know how this change has affected your experience.

Once again, this issue is remaining confusing and frustrating. I created this other thread over 10 days ago asking about the same issue.
Multiple Xfinity employees on here keep saying the manual recording is taken away and not coming back, while other multiple Xfinity employees in the other thread keep stating “that is not correct, it is an ongoing issue that our engineers are working on because it’s an open ticket, and it is still coming back.”

I ask once again for about the fifth time, which story is true? And why is there so much difficulty getting different answers from different employees on here?

Hello @binaural2000, and thanks for reaching out.  Looking in our systems I do show there is an active engineering ticket for this issue being 'service impacting' (what we call an SI ticket.)  It is currently being worked and was last updated today (8/24/26) at 10:57AM ET.  This is an ongoing issue, and the engineering teams are working toward a resolution to correct it, though we do not yet have an estimate on when it will be completed.
