Max buffering on X1 after 8 p.m. while other streaming apps are fine; ARRIS AX014AN, OS 6.6p32s3, Max 6.10.0 build 192.

This complaint shows up all over these forums, MAX forums, reddit, etc. HBO Max (Max) buffering after 8 p.m. on an ARRIS AX014AN X1 box is a known pattern others are reporting, and it’s usually a combination of Max’s app on X1 plus evening congestion, not your line speed or TV.

1 gig internet. ALL OTHER STREAMING (Netflix, et al) at the same time are fine. Read that again because other Xfinity users on X1 report that Max starts buffering in the evening (often right around 8–8:15 p.m.) while Netflix and other apps are fine, even on very fast connections.

Power cycled the modem router, restarted the X1 box, logged out and into MAX.

  • Other apps on X1 work fine in the evening.

  • Reboots/updates do not help.

  • Many other reports of this online.

Ticket opened with MAX as well.

For the $$ we're, in the interim..., paying Comcast - this has been an issue for over a year.

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
