Increase Program recording start time to 30 Minutes

When I try to record programs from RAI Italia and Media Set, they very frequently start the program before the stated time in the Guide and therefore I miss the beginning. In the recording option there is a provision to continue recording the program 30 minutes later but only to start 2 minutes earlier. Why not change that so it can start 30 minutes earlier?

For troubleshooting purposes, when trying to record your programming, under 'Record Options', if you scroll down, do you have the option to start the recording 2 or 3 minutes early?

Yes. and I would like to have that changed to up to 30 minutes early.

sgtjdc - I understand how important it is to have full control over your recordings—especially when programs run long or don’t appear normally in the guide. With the Xfinity X1 guide, you can easily set a manual recording that gives you flexibility over what is recorded and how long it’s saved. To capture everything during a set time:
Press Guide on your remote
Find the channel
Press Left arrow to highlight it
Press Record (●)

You’ll now see the Channel Record Options screen and you can customize your recording settings allowing you to choose the start time, length, date, and choose the save option (choose whether to save the recording until space is needed or for 1 year.) then confirm. Please let me know if this information helps.

Thank you. Yes, I know I have done that several times. But since Xfinity has the programming done to begin the recording 2 minutes early, I do not think there is much work to add the ability to start recording 30 minutes early.

The only way to start the recording 30 mins early is if the option is there. If you don't see a 30-minute option, then that feature would not be available on that program. We do apologize for any inconvenience around this. Are you able to choose the option to start the recording 2 or 3 minutes early, so that you don't miss the beginning of the program?
