MANUAL RECORDING GONE

I used to be able to set a specific day/channel/time and duration by going to the guide, selecting the channel from the first column, and getting a RECORD option.  You’d scroll the date and time set a recording..  Now that feature no longer seems to be available.  Is this something you’re seeing too?  Thanks

Hello LeeSoFL, thank you for reaching out here in our Xfinity Community forum. We appreciate your time, and I will be happy to assist you. I have not seen that issue before. When I want to schedule a recording, I move to the show or movie I want to record, and just press the red dot button. Have you tried that?

Jeff B - that is the way to record a show since time began, but that requires using the online schedule grid, finding the show you want, and pressing the red-dot button as you stated.  THE FEATURE to do a MANUAL RECORDING (ie RECORD SEPTEMBER 30TH FROM 9:52AM TO 4:22PM ON CHANNEL 431) is not there anymore.  In the past, you would navigate to the far left column (network or channel number) and there would be a RECORD designation at which point you could MANUALLY ENTER THE DATE, TIME ON AND OFF AND CHANNEL.  Do you understand the way it was, now and that it is NO LONGER AVAILABLE?

LeeSoFL Thank you for sharing the specifics of how you would set the recordings for the network/channel. I found that channel based recording options with a designated start and end time are no longer available as of August 2026. I'm sorry, I know this is not what you want to hear since you enjoy recording the network / channel, but you can record the programs set to air individually.

It’s an ongoing issue that has been happening for a month now. If you look back, I created a thread about one month ago about it. And many others have started new threads too.

A lot of employees have no idea what we are talking about, some claim that manual recording has been taken away for good, and many others including those answering in my thread claim it is a known issue with tickets open that their engineers are still working on and it will come back at some point.  So who knows what is really going on as we hit the one month mark.
