New TV Box Frozen on Welcome Screen Day 2

(Edited posted with update at the end)

New customer here, installed equipment the following day after some technical issues with the plan set up. The TV box in our living room gets stuck on the Welcome Page, requiring us to restart the modem. This isn’t the ideal experience when wanting to watch TV. How can I request a box replacement?

Living Room Day 1 (set up)

Got as far as pairing remote > blank screen > Restarted device by unplugging > frozen on welcome screen > Replaced splitter > Did a restart via Xfinity Assistant > Welcome screen, connecting to Internet, blank screen then it worked

Living Room Day 2

Turn on TV, showed loading welcome page and froze > Unplugged device and plugged it to a new outlet > loading welcome screen then froze (this took about 2 hours of trying before I gave up)

Using new HDMI cord that it came with, the new TV box in the kitchen works perfectly fine. Had no issue during set up or on day 2.

Update in case anyone else is experiencing the same thing

The night of day 2 I unplugged (just from the box) for the night. The following morning, it went through the same process but only took 10 mins. Welcome screen > black screen > blue screen > black screen > then worked. After that we haven’t had any issues.

Still a bit frustrating that we had to go through that as a new customer especially seeing from past forums that people have had the same issue. Hope this helps for anyone else!

Hello there, just wanted to follow up to see if you are still having issues with your equipment?

No issues at the moment but I am still keeping an eye on it when it powers on and will contact if I come across the issue again

Coming back for an update, we started to experience the issue again. Turned on the TV box, and it was a blank screen. I waited 10 minutes to see if it would start on its own before going through Xfinity Assistant to restart the modem. Xfinity Assistant states that all troubleshooting steps are completed and a professional installation is required but it will be a charged visit. Why would this be a charged visit for an issue I am consistently having as a new customer? Assuming it keeps track of my chat service requests, they should know it has been an issue.

I had to unplugged the box > welcome screen > blank screen, I am currently still waiting..

I do not believe it is a connectivity issue, as the kitchen TV box works perfectly fine. Who can I go through for better customer support to get a replacement box free of charge?

You can 100% get a new box free of charge, would you need to have that box sent to you, or could you go to the nearest Xfinity store and have that box exchanged or you?
